Howβs your βsummer bodyβ coming along? JUST KIDDING. We donβt do that here. π π»ββοΈ
But, there is something about summer that puts me in the mood to fine tune my habits β maybe itβs the great weather, maybe its all the fresh produce β who knows! When it comes to gentle habit formation and balance I rely on a simple little acronym I call HONEYS:
π¦ H - Hydration
π O - Organization
π₯ N - Nutrition
π E - Exercise
𧑠Y - Your "Y" (aka "purpose")
π΄ S - Sleep
This is what I teach in my self-paced online course, The Daily Method. And for the next month Iβve set the Introduction as well as Lesson 001: Hydrationπ¦ to preview mode. That means you can watch both those lessons for free.
If you refuse to spend another summer dieting, and are instead ready to prioritize your energy, mood, and overall well-being β this is a great place to start ππ»
The introduction video will walk you through what you will learn in the course β including the socio-economic factors that actually drive our ability to βbe healthyβ (hint, itβs not diet OR exercise). Itβll also show you how to use the habit tracking spreadsheet I created for the course (optional, but pretty darn awesome).
Lesson 001 is all about Hydration, and will teach you easy ways to develop hydrating habits that support your mood and energy. A great skill to have as we enter the summer months and one of the fastest ways to improve how you look, feel, and perform! You can watch those lessons right now by clicking below:
Please note that if you get to Lesson 002 and want to keep going, official enrollment includes daily support from me while you work through the course. Use the code THEWEEKLYPAGE to take $50 off the enrollment fee.
TGIF,
π READ: Back in The Weekly Page No. 209 I shared all about the cicada broods expected to hatch in the US, with one scientist saying the number of cicadas that are expected to hatch would βstretch to the moon and back THIRTY THREE TIMES!β *shiver* Well my friends, they have started hatching and this article from The Atlantic has more about these little fellahs and their life cycle. So interesting!
πΊ WATCH: I know we arenβt 100% sure how to feel about AI, but this life-like recreation of The Simpsons, set in the 1950s, is so wild and fun to watch. Margeβs hair! Maggie! Lisa! Bart! Hoooomer! Ned Flanders! So much 80s baby nostalgia packed into one minute.
π§ LISTEN: Americans are divided on support for Israel and the ongoing war in Gaza β and research shows that this divide often falls across generational lines. This episode explains what different generations of Americans experienced that shaped their opinions about the conflict. I thought it was really interesting to learn how 9/11 cemented a lot of older Americanβs support for Israel. If you find yourself disagreeing with younger or older people on this topic, this episode might be a great resource. Listen below or via the showβs website.
𧑠ENJOY: Iβve been doing long, 90-minute walks every morning since loosing my furry companion, Walter, and I finally decided to invest in new (much needed) walking shoes. Although I was eyeing pricey Hokas and New Balances I came across these randomly at the mall and after trying them on I couldnβt say no. Like walking on clouds, honestly. Check out the Nike E-Series, which are made with sustainable materials. Plus, theyβre on sale! Left me enough budget for a cute pair of summer sandals (I got the Criss-Cross Leather Sandals from & Other Stories). Not sponsored but does include affiliate links which give me a small commission if you make a purchase based on my recommendation. I paid for mine and love them.
