This week I walked our ballots over to the US Embassy in Denmark so they could hop a flight over to the US. Voting from abroad always feels a little anticlimactic, and sadly they don’t even have the “I voted!” stickers…but alas, I voted!
And I hope you have plans to vote, too! With 25 days to go until the election, there’s still plenty of time to request your ballot if you’d like to vote by mail, or register to vote and find your polling place if you’d like to vote in-person on election day.
Not sure if you’re registered? You can check right here. Got questions? Hit reply and I’ll be happy to help.
📚 READ: Over on Instagram I recently shared nine books that I’ve read and loved. I hadn’t done one of these roundups for nearly 18 months so it was hard to cut it down to just nine but here they are:
1. 🧘🏻♀️ Breath by @MrJamesNestor - Totally changed the way I think about breathing! ORDER A COPY
2. 🐙 Remarkably Bright Creatures by @ShelbyVanPeltWrites - A retiree who befriends an octopus and soon discovers family secrets. Will be a movie starring Sally Fields as Tove. ORDER A COPY
3.🔥 Nuclear War by @AnnieJaconbsenBooks - Can't say this one helps me sleep at night but it is an unfortunately timely read that explains one way nuclear war could unfold. ORDER A COPY
4. 💁🏻♀️ Hey Hun by @EmilyLynnPaulson - This book explains how Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) companies work and why they are harmful and predatory toward women. Was SO interesting. ORDER A COPY
5. 💪🏻 Lifting Heavy Things by @LauraKhoudari - An amazing book that will change the way you think about movement, exercise, and the connection you have with your body. ORDER A COPY
6. 💃🏻 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by @tjenkinsreid - Just finished this on audiobook and was FULLY captivated. Absolutely could not stop listening to it! Its so glamorous and has an early-onset cliffhanger that keeps you turning the page. ORDER A COPY
7. 🧠 How Minds Change by @DavidMcRaney - Great for navigating those tough conversations leading up to the election. Helped me understand why people think the way they do and how to actually make an impact. ORDER A COPY
8. 🍋 The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan - A beautiful story that unfolds between an Arab and a Jew in the heart of the Middle East. ORDER A COPY
9.💕 It Didn't Start With You by @MarkWolynn - Super interesting look at how trauma is inherited through families. ORDER A COPY
📺 WATCH: The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause is a new documentary coming out this month (looks so good!). Watch the trailer below:
It comes out on October 17th and can be viewed at 20 locations across the US, on PBS, or you can join an online viewing for $12.50 by signing up here.
The documentary is also the first broadcast film accredited by the FSMB (Federation of State Medical Boards) for continuing medical education credits. Medical professionals can go here to learn more and register for that webinar.
🎧 LISTEN: By now I’m sure you’ve heard that Vice President Kamala Harris recently went on the podcast, Call Her Daddy. I found it really refreshing to hear two women candidly discuss how women are treated in the US and how they want to see that change. Listen on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.
🧡 ENJOY: I love having some sort of protein bite or bar available for a quick, easy snack, and I gotta say that these Pumpkin Pie Energy Bites from Ambitious Kitchen are a wonderful seasonal option. I kept it super simple, and just chopped up a white chocolate bar and stirred the chunks into the mixture instead of making frosting (still delicious!). Grab the recipe.
