📚 READ: SO many of you responded to last week’s newsletter thanking me for my summary about my home state Governor, Tim Walz! I was so nervous waiting for the VP announcement but was ELATED by the selection 🎉. Last week I also shared this comprehensive Google Doc that summarizes Vice President Kamala Harris’s qualifications + achievements, so this week I’m going to send you over to this Politico piece that rounded up 55 Things To Know About Tim Walz.
📺 WATCH: Let’s keep with the Minnesota theme, shall we? Timothee Chalamet will portray Minnesota native Bob Dylan in the highly anticipated biopic, A Complete Unknown, scheduled to debut at Christmas. He did his own vocals for the role! Watch the trailer here.
🎧 LISTEN: Not to overload you on the Tim Walz content, but it’s relevant! Ezra Klein currently has two episodes worth listening to:
Is Tim Walz the Midwest Dad Democrats Need? - This episode is a great, hour-long interview with Walz. When asked what piece of policy he would enact first, he responded “Paid family leave.” Listen on Spotify.
Kamala Harris Isn’t Playing It Safe - In this episode, recorded after the announcement, Ezra Klein identifies Walz as a “media phenomenon”, and I think this is something a lot of people are missing. A huge part of why Walz was picked (I think), is that he is that along with being qualified — he’s also entertaining and endearing. The internet absolutely loves him and he can compete in the headlines with Trump. THAT is going to draw voters from every state. Listen on Spotify.
