January 2024 Tech Wallpapers + what to read, watch, listen to and enjoy...
Much to share this week, my friends, so let’s get into it…
🏆 I finally broke into the top 100 on the Technology Leaderboard, coming in hot at #97. You owe me a beer if I get into the top 50 tech Substacks!
👩🏻💻 My updated website launched this week and I’d love for you to take a peek! I did the entire thing myself and wanted something that was really clean and easy to navigate — while still being fun and creative.
I built it using Podia and I found it SO user-friendly — I did the entire revamp in about 5 days. It’s the perfect platform if you want to offer downloads or digital products, teach online courses, run memberships, or do consulting. Create your free site here (partner*).
✅ Many of you have downloaded my 2024 Habit Tracker and I am living for your updates and amazing reviews/comments! If you haven’t grabbed it yet, you can snag it + see a video tutorial for setting it up in this post.
💻I had decided not to create Tech Wallpapers this year…but got so many messages asking where they were that I decided to whip ‘em up. I’ll publish them at the end of each month in The Monthly Page, but January’s are included below.
📅 January’s Monthly Review Day is coming up on Monday, January 8th! These are an online gathering for monthly planning, goal setting, and habit formation. Learn more and RSVP here.
And there’s one more BIG announcement (🎤) but you’ll have to scroll down to see it!
Enjoy your weekend 🧡
*I’m an official Podia Pro Partner and may receive a commission if you decide to use their platform. I’ve been using Podia for several years to host my courses and LOVED it so much I decided to move my entire site over to it, so this feels like a really aligned partnership and I adore their team. Hope you agree.
📚 READ: Palestinian American Hala Alyan, an NYU professor, poet, and essayist recently wrote this beautiful piece titled “What A Palestinian-American Wants You To Know About Dehumanization” and it’s certainly worth reading. “When we are exposed to indoctrination or propaganda, our perception of the world, our understanding of order and fairness and retribution, is curated for us as something static and predetermined.”
📺 WATCH: Loved this new movie on Netflix! It’s an apocalyptic thriller starring Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke that will leave you more than a little unnerved. The plot is extra scary after you read this article about how Mark Zuckerberg is currently building a 5,000 sq. ft. underground bunker. I flinch when I see a white Tesla now. Watch the movie trailer here.
🎧 LISTEN: After a longgggg hiatus I brought back my show — The Plan Podcast! I’ll be publishing interviews with an incredible lineup of guests throughout 2024, and tossing up solo-episodes in between. The cool thing is that my show can now be hosted + shared right here on Substack. In my return episode I’m telling you what I’ve been up to, getting vulnerable about what it has been like preparing for the loss of our precious dog, and explaining Keystone Habits (such a game changer!). Listen here or wherever you listen to podcasts (might take a few more days for it to appear everywhere but it’s on Substack, Spotify + Apple).
🧡 ENJOY: As promised, here are Tech Wallpapers for January 2024. I’m also looking for designers interested in creating a set of wallpapers to share. Learn more + download yours in this post.
🙋🏻♀️ Are there any movies you watch on specific dates? Either because of an association you have or a date mentioned in the movie? Am I outing myself as very weird by asking this question? Probably.
Saturday is January 6th, which means it is time for Annie Banks’ wedding! Do I watch Father of the Bride every year on January 6th? Yes I do.
Bet Annie Banks-Mackenzie was pissed when those proud boys stormed the capitol on her 20th anniversary. 🙃
For some fun movie trivia: in the original, Nina and Annie tell Franck that the wedding will take place on January 6th. But in the sequel, a framed version of Annie and Brian’s wedding invite displays the date of October 30th. Maybe I should watch it twice a year?
So are you this level of weird? What movies do you watch on specific dates? Comment with yours below (click on the 💬 icon if you’re in email).
I love the new design of your site. Just watching the trailer of that movie gave me goosebumps. One of our partner at work got cyberattack before the Holidays and has not fully recover yet. It is a new kind of scary. We don‘t watch movies at specific dates but we do have some seasonal traditions: Terminator 2 in august, back to the future in october and home alone right on November 1st. Have a great january.
Thank you for the thoughtful read suggestion on Palestine 🙏🏻
