A fav efficiency tip + this week's picks for work, wellness, and wonder.
One of my favorite tips to increase efficiency is to set up Designated Browser Tabs.
Designated Browser Tabs are a set of tabs your internet browser will automatically open whenever you start it. Imagine firing up the internet and having it automatically load and log you into the 5 programs you need to get your day started. Just this one little change can help you:
Avoid distractions. Want to do creative work during the first hour of the day? Have your browser open + log in to the exact services you need for that specific type of work.
Save time + bandwidth. Want to feel more focused? Have your browser automatically open the tools and services you need, so you don’t waste precious energy thinking about what to open, what the URL is, login info, etc. One click and it’s done!
Develop new habits. Want to start your day by writing 500 words? Have your browser automatically open the Google Doc housing your first draft so you’re ready to go.
If you aren’t sure how to do this, I’ll walk you through it in this short video tutorial:
If that feels helpful, then your next assignment is learning all about Bookmark Folders. Have a good weekend!
🍲 EAT: Either make this for yourself, or bring it to your Turkey Day gathering — cuz it’s delicious. It’s a delightful, whipped combo of feta cheese, Greek yogurt, and pumpkin puree topped with honey, walnuts, and a sprinkle of thyme. Goes SO GOOD with some buttery bread, is easy to make, and travels pretty well (add the toppings when you arrive). Grab the recipe here.
🎲 PLAY: You know I’m a sucker for games and puzzles, so I’ve fallen pretty hard for the New York Times’ latest game, Connections. It provides you with 16 words that you have to organize into 4 categories (with 4 word per category). You can only play once per day, but its a nice little way to warm up the ol’ brain. Give it a try.
💌 ENJOY: I haven’t sent holiday cards in (*checks watch*) like a decade…but I might not be able to resist dropping a few of these Shit Show Cards from Rani Ban in the mail this year. Their shop has a lot of cute cards, so check it out.
📔 READ: This book has been on my “to-read” list for way too long, and I’ll just admit that I haven’t gotten around to it yet. And now the mini-series has come out on Apple TV (watch the trailer here) and I’m torn between diving into the show or reading the book first. Lessons in Chemistry is about a female chemist, set in the 1960s.

I haven’t seen the Apple TV show yet but I LOVED the book and read it in one (sick) day last year -- I found it to be a really engaging & fast read. However you choose to engage with the story first, can’t wait to hear what you think! (Also I think that I saw you read fourth wing? Have you started iron & flame yet 👀)
I absolutely loved the book too and think reading it first would be the most enjoyable!
